Stake Activity Day Camp

I had the opportunity to attend Activity Day Camp with my girls yesterday as a chaperone.  We arrived at the camp at 9:30 am & were home by 4 pm.  What a fun bunch of girls our ward has!  I was also fortunate to go with other fun chaperones!  And bravo to the stake for making it an entertaining & enriching day.  The girls get to go again today but without me.  I know they'll have lots of fun again.  Here's a few pics from yesterday.

P.S.  I thought I'd keep the kiddos annonymous (this is a public blog) but as you can see they were wearing name tags.....oops.  So If you know them great, enjoy the pics.  If not, don't be creepy & blow the pics up.  And if you're doing that creepy thing anyway, get off my blog!  Well, unless your intentions aren't creepy like Jill blowing up my landscaping pics.  Anyway Hmmmm, maybe I should go private!

The Nehalem Naturals (as they called themselves)

I have to explain this one...they were doing a camp song called "Arista shaw" (sp?).  Maybe you know it, maybe not.  Very fun what this song "makes" you do so of course I had to capture that moment!  Silly girls

This would be the Queen Bee's.  The one on the right is our Bishop's wife, Kim.  And honestly I do not know the name of the other Queen Bee, no idea.  Despite Kim's rough morning I'm glad she made it to have fun with us!

Great Wolf Lodge, Cousins & BBQ's

Judd & I were in charge of his family reunion this year (immediate family - his siblings & parents & all the kiddos).  We headed to Great Wolf Lodge on Friday.  We had never been but heard it was fun times.  And that it was!

Luke & Matthew loved these water squirting motorcycles (as Luke called them)

Megan & Savannah

Haley & Hannah

The boys again

Here's George, Haley & Mary coming out of River Canyon Run
That's about all I have for water pics, although when downloading the pictures I found one someone took of me in my swimsuit.  I'm assuming that was Judd & we'll keep that one private.  It's best that way....you're welcome.

So for anyone considering Great Wolf Lodge I have a few pieces of advice:

  1. They say they have towels for the pool area & they do.  But they're crappy - itchy & small.  Take your own.
  2. Take snacks & keep them in the room or else you'll nickle & dime yourself to death, just like we did.
  3. They have lots of other activities.  Read up on it, some are lots of fun.  i.e. Storytime in the lobby area @ bedtime, a meet & greet (that's not what they called it but that's what it was) with their wolf mascot (I know he has a name, don't remember)
  4. You can start swimming the day you check in as early as 1 pm & you can stay until closing on the day you check out.  Take advantage & get your moneys worth.
Ok, I'm done.  Thanks for humoring me.
We came home Saturday evening & had a BBQ at Judd's parents.  We were all tired & crabby, some more than others.  (We won't name names he, he, he)

A slide of chaos

Ammon & Matthew were best of buds

Grandma & Wyatt

The kids wanted music for a dance party.  Then they decided to do a talent show.  This is Hannah & Haley's performance & Uncle Foster jumped in to show he too can get down with his bad self.

Judd also wanted a little attention & was doing lovely leaps.  Nice Judd, very nice.  Obviously I wasn't prepared for him to leap in the air so his head got cut off.

Sunday we all went to Judd's parents sacrament meeting then came back to our house for another BBQ.  What can I say, we like BBQ's.  We were also celebrating George's (Judd's dad's) Birthday.

Eat up!

Happy Birthday Dad/Grandpa!

We are so glad we got to have this fun reunion!  The kids had a fabulous time playing with their cousins, especially the ones from Utah that we don't see very often.  We are so grateful for our wonderful families & the chance to get together!

Spa Day

It smelled like sweet pea body spray, sounded like a jungle (thanks to the sound machine) & it felt very relaxing...until Luke ate the cucumbers right off my eyes.

Thank you Haley & Kennedy for opening your salon!

My parents have the coolest cherry tree!

I have to defend my Dad's attire. We stopped by & he had been working in the garage &/or with his car. And Mom the only pic I had of you was your backside as you were picking cherries. It will remain privately on my computer, you're welcome.
Happy 4th of July!

BBQ Saturday afternoon with some families from the ward....

No one would look at me, the sun was so bright

Sunday afternoon BBQ at Ryan & Danielle's

Miss Adalyn who's flower is just as big as her head

Cohen & his big blue eyes

And Jordan & his Cabbage Patch doll.
No I did not "stage" this picture.  This is how I found him, I touched nothing.  Maybe Jordan would say different but I will stick by my story

Eatin' time

Here's Savannah modeling the 3-D glasses Grandma bought her

Sunday night was the Hymas' house for fireworks

This last picture is Thayne's finale.  It went for about 4 minutes.  After that experience I say that the 4th is Thayne's holiday, hands down.  He claimed it, he owned it & he's the king of 4th of July fireworks displays.
