Happy Birthday Savannah & Judd!

Savannah's 8th Birthday was Saturday the 24th.  I had every intention of getting her bday pics & post on the blog that night.....obviously didn't happen.  So here I am doing both a post for her & Judd's bday celebrations.  Let the fun begin.....

Friday night Savannah invited friends to go to JJ Jump for a party.  They jumped for 75 minutes.  Actually I should say we because Jill & I got in on the action too.  I think next time I'll wear my workout clothes & sports bra.  I know, TMI.  After the jumping she got to stick her hands in the cash cube to snag some cold hard cash.....$2.

Off to the party room for turkey sandwiches, cuties, & chips.  Then cake & ice cream & the opening of presents!

Up in the top right is Savannah's cake. My friend Heather made it. She's fabulous.  This was her 3rd cake for the DAY (crazy lady).  Not only was it cute, it was yummy!

So that was Friday.  On Saturday we cleaned the house in the AM.  Then the 3 oldest & I ran to get Judd's Bday present , use a gift card Savannah got for her Bday & buy cake pans for a cake.  We came back I baked the cake, called Papa John's for the Babysitter & kiddos then Judd & I left for dinner to celebrate his birthday, even though it was Savannah's.  We got home from dinner & I finished the cake & went to bed a little after midnight.

So (here goes the story) Judd's favorite cake is German Chocolate.  I have never, yes I said NEVER made him a homemade German Chocolate cake.  So I attempted & it was sad. It was dry & disappointing.  I'm not a huge fan of this kind of cake to begin with, but it was not right.....maybe next year!

Sunday my parents, brother, sister & her family, grandpa & Uncle Tyler & Aunt Geri (from CA)  came to have lunch or dinner.  Whatever you call it when you're eating at 3:30 pm.  We had a great dinner then got to sing to Judd & Savannah & eat dry cake & ice cream.

Happy 34th Birthday Judd & Happy 8th Birthday Savannah!  I love you two!!

Now for this coming weekend - Savannah's baptism & Luke's 2nd Birthday.

It's about time!

I have been in this house for 2 years 3 months & 18 days.
You'd think I'd have every room just the way I want it.  Decorated, painted, organized.
Well I don't.....but I am making progress, one room at a time

This is the laundry room.
I just finished putting up this track system from IKEA (not always a fan of that store but when you have good organization items other downfalls can be ignored!)  The laundry hampers are fabulous.  They're on wheels...Wheeeeee!

I will not bore you with the before pictures.  Most importantly because it was always a pig sty & also I don't have a pic.  Just imagine chaos... but now it's pretty & let's dwell on that part.

This is another IKEA item.  I love this thing.  There is a sock drawer, cleaning rag drawer & the bottom big drawer is the "to be ironed" pile.  love it, love it, love it.

Hmmmm......which room is next?

A Weekend Visitor

Matthew's Preschool has two Guinea pigs, Alvin & Nelson (no, not Theodore or Simon).  These cute fur balls can come home with any lucky family over the weekend.  You just have to ask.
So we did.

Matthew chose Alvin

He was force fed carrots

The girls were SO excited to see Alvin.  They have been wanting a hamster or guinea pig for a long time.  Notice how much man handling love he's getting.  Also notice the absence of Luke.  That love would have been more than Alvin could handle.

Haley & Alvin

He's made himself "at home"

He's even found a girlfriend, Cupcake (Savannah's guinea pig Webkinz).
There has already been talk of him coming again.

Fort Vancouver

Haley's class had a fieldtrip today to Fort Vancouver.  We have been there before as a family but I still learned a lot & had a great time.  We got a tour through the Chief's house, blacksmith's shop, Indian trade store & the fur store.  We also got to go up on the tower thing (There was an actual name....can't remember).  I had a group of 5 girls including Haley.  I love spending time at the school and with the kids' classrooms.  I like being involved, knowing their friends & teachers.  I just wish I had more time for things like that.  Anyway it was a fun-filled day & I'm glad we got to spend a little Haley/Mom time!

The Chief's house

Touching all the furs, which grossed some out

The Blacksmith at work.  As he chatted along he was working on something & at the end he gave it to the teacher for the classroom.  It was a coat hook, he said it is sturdy enough to hang kids from.... ha ha ha

At the Indian trade store

Easter 2010

First off I have to say how much I love that Easter & General Conference are on the same weekend this year, so appropriate.  That's how it should be every year.  I was uplifted & edified from conference today, it was great!  I can't wait for tomorrow!!  I know I won't be blogging tomorrow so I thought I'd do it tonight.
We wish you all a very happy Easter!

Luke was mad because I wouldn't give him any "balls".  He didn't even want the plastic eggs I tried to give him.  He knew what was going on...he was left out of dying eggs & rightfully so.

And here's a few of my cute kiddos dressed in their Easter outfits that won't be worn on Easter Sunday....

Happy Easter!
